Status Update, Plus Tips and Tricks for the Spellmaster Kit!

The Spellmaster kit was released a few weeks ago, however I really enjoy using it and thought I’d share my top tips on how to use the kit to its full potential.

The kit is perfect for countering large-scale teams, since everyone within 20 blocks of you receives a negative potion effect. This can be Instant Damage (1 and 2), Poison, Hunger, Weakness and Slowness. After activating the kit, it will go on cooldown for 2 minutes. It’s quite a long cooldown, but when used correctly, you’ll be glad you played as the kit!

Top Tips For Playing Spellmaster:

  • Teams are a common thing in the Hardcore Games — and this is perfect at scaring them off and making it easier to kill people. When you run in, or you’re within 20 blocks of a large team, activate the ability, switch the item out for an extra soup, and fight! In many cases they will be really low from the damage, making them easy to kill, or they will run away after losing a lot of health.
  • Controlling the Feast is sometimes hard when there’s so many people around. You shouldn’t make it your priority to get to the Feast first; instead, you want to arrive when there’s around 45 seconds until the Feast starts. This way, players that got there early will have died – and other players will have used a lot of soup in the progress. When you arrive, you can activate your kit to win the feast and get some diamond and potions from the chests.
  • If you enjoy teaming, I advise not doing so with this kit. Spellmaster works best when you are a solo player.

Status Update:

 

It’s been a while since we had a status update, here’s a bunch of stuff that’s happened recently that you should know about.

General
- We were at Minecon! It was super fun and we really enjoyed meeting everyone. Special thanks to everyone who came and hung out at our booth!
- We’re currently in Open Beta for our new gamemode, Mazerunner.
- Our servers won’t be updated until Bukkit 1.7.2 comes out. Sadly we do not know when this will happen, but we will keep you informed via our homepage.
Hardcore Games
- Kit Rotation!
- New Kit: Spellmaster
- New Kit: Vacuum
- PRO rank players now have access to retired kits.
- Archer and Chemist are being retired!

Capture the Flag
- The Assassin class was nerfed a while ago. This is only temporary – the class will be improved after 1.7.2.

Smash
- Unfortunately, the gamemode has been retired.

Sabotage
- New maps, Floating Isle and Pumpking Patch added.

Bunch of Sabotage bugs are now fixed!

Kit PVP
- There’s a new, less laggy map. The caves and ores were removed from under the map, making it more playable.

Staff
- Congratulations to KiwiTaco, Crowhart and Zephhyre on becoming trial mods.
- tealfox and NicolasAlacrino were promoted to full mods.
